Severe weather conditions may require that weekday meetings and activities, Bible Study classes and Sunday morning worship services, be cancelled. Olive Branch will use the following communication methods to inform you of cancellations:
- send an email
- have it announced on WTOP radio station (1500 AM and 103.5 FM).
Olive Branch will also check the Montgomery County Public School system’s website http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org to assist in making the decision to cancel activities.
The Math Camp will be held for two weeks, August 4-15, 2014, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Olive Branch Rectory. Applications available on the Welcome table. All applications must be received in the church office on or before Sunday, July 20, 2014.
OBCC LEADERSHIP MEETING
There will be a leadership meeting on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the health of the church with the elders, ministry heads and others with leadership responsibility in the church.
Father’s Day is today, June 15, 2014. In recognition of this special day, there will be no Sunday School after worship service so families can spend more time with Dads.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL MEETING
There will be a meeting of all VBS volunteers (and those interested in volunteering) on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at the Rectory. The purpose of the meeting is to finalize VBS duties and responsibilities. If you have any questions, see Sister Brenda Kelly or Sister Jackie Slay.
MEN’S BIBLE FELLOWSHIP
The next meeting for the men of Olive Branch will be Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Rectory.
On Sunday, June 29, 2014, there will be a church meeting immediately after worship service at Sherwood Elementary School. Current agenda topics include a financial update, a bank update and a construction update. Please submit in writing to one of the Elders any specific question your may have relating to construction, capital campaign, or finance no later than Saturday, June 21, 2014. All Olive Branch members are encouraged to attend the meeting. Sunday School classes will be cancelled.
OBCC YOUTH ON STAGE
Miss Shelby Fountain will be starring as Little Ti Moune in the play “Once On This Island” at the Olney Theatre Center from April 9-May 9, 2014. Flyers are available on the Welcome Table. Congratulations Shelby!

The Theatre Ministry has been invited to present the original play, Sylvie and the Airman, by Sister Sophonia Simms, at “An Afternoon Tea” for 2014 scholarship award recipients. The affair is sponsored by the Ivy Vine Charities on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel – Pooks Hill. Flyers are available on the Welcome Table in the Foyer.
